Bob and all the great people at Advantage Boats,

While each of us had our own benchmark to determine when it is time to "treat" ourselves, mine came as I approached age 50. Realizing that time moves only one direction, I decided it was time to pursue my greatest passion to the fullest. Although I had previously owned two "used" boats, I never felt truly fulfilled as a boating enthusiast. Hence, I began my quest for the "new" boat of my dreams. Having an "eye" for both quality and style I realized that my journey could be long, and it was. For example, one leg of my search took my wife and I from St. Louis to Las Vegas via plane, then by car through western Arizona and into California. And we didn't just visit showrooms; we went to actual boat factories to check out the quality and craftsmanship for ourselves. After this trip and others, visiting numerous showrooms and attending a number of boat shows, we found our dream, a 2000 Advantage 25' Citation. And she is a beauty! We chose the bow rider with the expanded mid-cabin for its outstanding flexibility of use. So well thought-out and designed that there is virtually no loss of that rich powerboat profile typically associated with caddy-cabins. She sports that low slung hot-boat look I was looking for, yet smartly incorporates high freeboards, which help keep passengers feeling safe and secure. The mid-cabin design is truly ingenious and nobody does it better than Advantage. This boat is so roomy I can carry more passengers more comfortably than boats much larger. And, with the Advantage design we got a full size hull. Typically, you would have to buy a 27 to 28 foot boat to get a hull the same size as our 25 footer. Unlike most other manufacturers, Advantage doesn't cheat on length with a super-extended swim platform. The result is a ride as smooth and stable of a much larger boat. Similar to my approach to buying a car, I shy away from "standard". And the one thing I did not want was to have what I would call a "cookie-cutter" boat. You know, the ones you see everywhere. The same design, the same graphics, and the same limited choice of colors. "Advantage Boats" is one of the few boat manufacturers offering us boat buyers an opportunity to upset the cookie (apple) cart. They maintain an outstanding choice of models, some very unique, all beautifully crafted. And the customer can get involved, really involved. Wherever I go my 25' Citation is a real head turner. I can't take her out on the water without getting comments like, "that is one beautiful boat!"; "extremely well designed!"; "wow, that's the longest looking 25 footer I have ever seen!". Honestly, we could not find another manufacturer who offered the quality, style, value, or opportunity to become as personally involved in the construction and graphic design processes as "Advantage Boats". |
